Report an Issue

If you have encountered any issues/bugs, Please report it to us using the guidelines below either through email or post it in our forum. We will try our best to get it fixed as soon as possible.


Collect MX Player logs directly from the app:

  1. Whenever you have the problem/issue, Immediately Open Menu either by pressing hardware key or by tapping on the menu (three vertical dots on the top right corner).
  2. Goto Help & select "Bug Report".
  3. Kindly make sure that System Logs, System Settings & App Settings are selected as we need logs to identify the root cause of the issue
  4. If you are willing to send the report by mail, make sure that "Save to File" option is disabled. Then Just tap on OK button & select your email client (like Gmail or Outlook App). Kindly explain the issue & Possible steps to reproduce the issue in the mail description and send it to us (mxvideoplayer@gmail.com).
  5. If you want to report it through our forum, kindly make sure that everything is selected in bug report window including "Save to disk" and tap on OK. MX Player will save the logs in your primary storage device & will show a toast message with the exact location. (File name will be in the "report_YYYY-MM-DD_HHMMSS.zip" pattern). Create a new thread in our forum. If you can't attach the bug report just share the link after uploading it in any other cloud storage.

Collect MX Player logs using MX Log Collector:

On some occasions, you can't even enter into the MX Player. On such case, you may require using MX log collector application to collect the log. It can be even used in normal conditions. It's a very small application which can be downloaded either from play store or from the website.

  1. Just launch the MX Log Collector Application immediately after crash/problem. It will open a dialog window which is similar to the MX Player's bug report dialog.
  2. Kindly make sure that System Logs, System Settings & App Settings are selected as we need logs to identify the root cause of the issue
  3. If you are willing to send the report by mail, make sure that "Save to File" option is disabled. Then Just tap on OK button & select your email client (like Gmail or Outlook App). Kindly explain the issue & Possible steps to reproduce the issue in the mail description and send it to us.
  4. If you want to report it through our forum, kindly make sure that everything is selected in bug report window including "Save to disk" and tap on OK. Collect complete system logs using MX Log Collector:

    In Some cases, We may need complete system logs in order to identify the root cause of the issue. This method is almost same as the previous method. But, You have to grant the permission to MX Log collector in order to collect the system logs.
    1. Enable Developer Options on your device. (open your device settings » about phone & Tap the Build number field seven times to enable Developer Options.)
    2. Then open Developer Options in your settings & enable USB debugging
    3. Install android platform tools (may use this one if you are not familiar with it) & debugging drivers for your device on your computer. (may try this one. It will work for the most of the devices. If it doesn't work, you may have to install device specific drivers from your OEM)
    4. Connect the device with USB Debugging enabled to the computer
    5. Once everything is ready, open command prompt on your PC
    6. Enter "adb devices". it will show the list of devices connected
    7. If it shows as unauthorized, you will see a prompt on your device screen just approve it. (Not applicable to older android systems)
    8. Now enter "adb shell pm grant com.mxtech.logcollector android.permission.READ_LOGS"
    9. If there is no error message shown, you have done. Now you my disconnect the device from the computer.
    10. Now follow the steps as mentioned in the Method I or Method II to collect the logs. The permission is valid till you uninstall/reinstall the log collector app. So, no need to repeat these steps everytime as long as you have MX Log Collector

    Collect complete system logs by using logcat:

    In Some cases, You can't collect logs in any of the methods mentioned above like system level crash or a reboot. In such cases, you have to connect the device to a PC and collect the logs in real-time without disconnecting the device.
      1. Enable Developer Options on your device. (open your device settings » about phone & Tap the Build number field seven times to enable Developer Options.)
      2. Then open Developer Options in your settings & enable USB debugging
      3. Install Android platform tools (may use this one if you are not familiar with it) & debugging drivers for your device on your computer. (may try this one. It will work for the most of the devices. If it doesn't work, you may have to install device-specific drivers from your OEM)
      4. Connect the device with USB Debugging enabled to the computer
      5. Once everything is ready, open command prompt
      6. Enter "adb devices". it will show the list of devices connected
      7. If it shows as unauthorized, you will see a prompt on your device screen just approve it. (Not applicable to older Android systems)
      8. You must keep the device connected to the computer when you collect the logs.
      9. Open command prompt on your PC & enter "adb logcat -v threadtime *:V > "D:\MX_Log.txt"
      10. You can adjust the file path & name on the above command according to your requirement
      11. Now Just reproduce the issue on your phone
      12. Once you have reproduced the issue, just Press Ctrl + C on your system to stop logging.
      13. Logs will be stored in a text file on the location specified by you. Just compress it (if it's very large) & send it to us
